Charles L. (“Chase”) Hickman (Retired)
Chase Hickman (Retired) was born and raised in Hannibal. He graduated from Hannibal High School; and, he attended college and law school at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he majored in accounting, and received his law degree in 1977. His wife, Jane, is also a native of Hannibal, and they will celebrate their 40th anniversary this summer. Jane received her master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and she is the administrator of Skills Development, a program in Hannibal for developmentally disabled adults.
Chase and Jane have two children, Laura and Chase. Laura graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a business degree, and received her MBA from St. Louis University. She works in Hannibal in human resources for General Mills. Their son, Chase, graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and works for the University of Missouri. Chase and Jane have 3 grandchildren.
Chase practiced law in Palmyra, Missouri from 1977 to 1983 and has been the City Attorney for Palmyra for 35 years. In 1983, he moved to Hannibal and joined the law firm of Cary, Welch, Hickman & Hawk, LLP, with Jim Cary (deceased), Joseph D. Welch and Crystal M. Hawk.
Chase is active in the community. Chase has been on the Board of Directors of F&M Bank of Hannibal since 1980. He is on the Board of Directors for Mt. Olivet Cemetery, past President of the Hannibal Free Public Library, President of Camp Oko Tipi Corporation board, and past President of the YMCA Board.
